This is really my dream FA signing, at least with this year's crop. He's gonna be relatively cheap, not cost us any prospects or trades and he's already someone who gets along with all our teammates. You really couldn't ask for a better fit. And he's Hungry for a title and this will be his last shot, so, you know he'll be bringing it.

    And the excitement grows:
Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that free agent outfielder Torii Hunter is meeting with Tigers officials in Detroit on Tuesday.
The number of teams who have reportedly expressed interest in Hunter is into the double-digits, but the Tigers have emerged as the favorite in recent days. It's not clear if Tuesday's meeting means a signing is imminent, but Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles reported Monday that the veteran outfielder is expected to make a decision within the next two weeks. He should be able to land a two-year contract.

Hunter would love to play for Detroit with the players we have on our team. Adding a veteran bat who is a great defender and still hitting .280 with some kind of speed.

There is not a better fit considering defense, offense, ability to lead in the clubhouse/on the field, teach Berry/Dirks/Jackson/Garcia how to become better defensively, and the amount and length of the contract.

    Awesome!

He's going to visit Texas and maybe another city or 2 and talk it over with his wife. I still think Detroit is where he's going to end up. DD and Mike I. have a way of getting who they want.

    Not surprised.

Also wouldn't be surprised if he's already signed.

No one will know anything concrete until DD wants us to know anything.

How come no one is reporting that he left without a contract except 97.1? I'm not trusting them. There's far better sources.

Especially after Morosi - who is one of the more trusted guys in baseball - reported that we are prepared to offer him a multi year deal.

If he does end up here, what type of numbers do you guys expect from him for 2013? I'm thinking .280 14HR 85RBI if he hits 5th or 6th but if he hits 2nd probably more like 65RBI

Rosenthal said Texas wasn't heavy on Hunter at this moment. I really don't see how he's not a Tiger within the next few days unless some mystery team just blows him away.

Who's your source? I haven't heard any of that yet but i wouldn't be surprised if he visits other teams.
