Source: Mike Tannenbaum's job is safe

Joe Caporoso of Turn on the Jets has a source telling him Mike Tannenbaum will not likely be on the chopping block in the event the season ends as unsuccessfully as it appears it will.

On Mike Tannenbaum’s job security - “The GM has the owner convinced that he isn’t at fault. He will play the Revis and Holmes injury card and plus he can play the Blame Rex game. He is brilliant at that.” (Translation – as we have been saying all along, Tannenbaum isn’t going anywhere next year).

Looks like all of these "Fire Tanny" chants may be for nothing.

Just the fact that it's in the media, speaks more volumes than what was actually said.

Sometimes you have to look beyond to see the real story.

Relax. Rex has more of an influence in our picks than your lead to believe. Tannenbaum and Mangini had excellent drafts minus the Gholsten pick who really was the smart pick at 6 overall needing an OLB.

Rex has pressured Tannenbaum into every single move hes made. Sanchez. Greene, Wilson, Wilkerson (although that was a smart pick) Coples.

The guaranteeing of Chez's contract was a terrible move, but overall Mike Tannenbaum has been more of a puppet to the owner and the coach. Tebow was Woodys move. Tannenbaum is nowhere near as bad as people are saying. We should have kept Mangini and hired ROB Ryan, and this team would be a perennial power right now.

I'm just trying to figure out how people can cash in their PSL's without finding a whole new bunch of suckers to buy them.

Did they come with a money back guarantee that I didn't hear about?

You have no sources for these statements because they are not true, Ryan gets one pick per draft and thats it. Your ignorance is flying high and Mike T should be blamed for this listless roster he has formed.

If this draft class ends up busting, Tanny will be gone. Can't go this long without having impact players come in and succeed right away.

Here is the problem with the draft classes for the Jets-- You will have some that say in terms of where players are at, the Jets draft classes have been good. For example:

2009-- Sanchez, Greene, Slauson. You will have some that will say that the Jets have their starting QB, starting RB, and starting LG.

2010-- Wilson, Ducasse, McKnight, Conner. You will have some that say Wilson is starting for Revis, Ducasse is getting more reps, McKnight is a Pro Bowl KR, and Conner was our starting FB until injury.

2011-- Wilkerson, Ellis, Powell, Kerley, McElroy, McKnight. You will have some that will say Wilkerson and Kerley are starters, Ellis, Powell, and possibly McElroy should be starting.

2012-- Coples, Hill, Davis, Bush, Ganaway, Griffin, Allen, White. You will have some that will say Coples, Hill, and Davis are all starters; Bush is playing more each week; Allen should still be on the active roster; and White has played in a few games.

Unfortunately, I subscribe to the school of thought that a lot of these draft picks, unless that get better really quick, will not be NY Jets in 3 or 4 years time. From 2009 through 2011, you can probably only say that Wilkerson is the only lock to be on this Jets roster in say 2014 or 15.

Coples and Kerley will be on the roster in 2014 for sure.

Jets have been pretty good at hiding their intentions when it comes to getting rid of guys.

At least, they've been consistent in standing behind their guys until they actually part ways.
