For the guy who said Crowder can cover for Marion, tonight proves how wrong that is. First off, we missed his rebounding, he is our leading rebounder, in total rebounds and rpg.

Next, Marion's effect versus Carmelo is notable. Here is Melo's points and minutes versus the Mavs since the start of the 07/08 season:
    07/08 Gm 1 - 23p/36m
    07/08 Gm 2 - 32p/36m
    08/09 Gm 1 - 28p/33m
    08/09 Gm 2 - 23p/33m
    08/09 Gm 3 - 43p/41m
    08/09 PO1 - 23p/29m
    08/09 PO2 - 25p/42m
    08/09 PO3 - 31p/41m
    08/09 PO4 - 41p/43m
    08/09 PO5 - 30p/39m
    09/10 Gm 1 - 16p/30m*
    09/10 Gm 2 - 19p/30m
    09/10 Gm 3 - 10p/37m*
    10/11 Gm 1 (D) - 20p/42m*
    10/11 Gm 2 (D) - 42p/42m*
    10/11 Gm 3 (NY) - 18p/36m*
    11/12 Gm 1 - 6p/30m*

In short, coming in to tonight, since the start of the 07/08 season:
    Without Marion - 28.91ppg/36.64mpg
    With Marion - 18.67ppg/36.17mpg

What did Melo do tonight? 31 points in 29 minutes, with foul trouble.

I love what we did without Marion. Imagine, if Marion played and held Melo to the 19ppg...we would have won by 2. Then Dirk and his ridiculous numbers in MSG. But Crowder (and Dahntay Jones) can't hold Melo in check like Marion can. And that hurts a lot.

Both teams were off, dirk and Marion were missed as were Amare and shump. Two tough teams.

Nope, not the way he is performing right now. On his better or best days maybe but how often does that become truth? I think he really would hurt our chemistry. However, you never know who'll stay, who is allowed to stay and who will enter the market after this season. Him, Paul or keeping Collison and Mayo... you never know what our team will look like in 10 months from now on.

Frachises x-factor this year is what will Dirk be still capable of, what can he still offer and give on and off court and will he and our whole remaining team attract other players to sign with us or at least those we're having right now, to stay. It's a lifetime chance to become the new face of one of the winningnest franchises of the past decade and lead it into the next era, with vets and young guns and Dirk aside for quiet a bit longer.

Advantage Dallas, I'd call. He needs much more camps with the Dream but hopefully he's on a good way too. I enjoyed him when he was younger and healthy (and with another team as well). After his injuries, he's never been the same (in my eyes).

I really like our team right now but I can't honestly say that I am not sad that we didn't get Deron... He's my favorite pg in the league and was so excited of the thought that he would be playing for the Mavs...

what did you guys think of Carter looking for his shot last night..? He shot a few post/dirk fades and called an Iso on Melo once. I cant tell if I like him better as a 'catch and attack' scorer or a scorer looking for his shot like last night.

and no Deron is very ball dominant be happy you gotta complete(for the most part) team right now. Kaman is one of the best big man shooters in the league, with Dirk being the best, it's gonna be a scary german/non traditional *** lineup when Dirk is back. We could win games by just feeding the Germans
