Out of the free agents I would go in this order Dan Haren-Brandon McCarthy- Francisco Liriano-Joe Saunders.

In 2013. Plus some scrap heap vets on one year deals that cash will scoop up late. Just like colon, Fred, Lowe, etc.
That's not a bad rotation. Then you send Joba and Pineda to extended ST so they will be ready June 1.

I ld be happy with that although we all know the brass ain't starting joba. Dumb.

Doubt it will be Haren, he is a west coast boy. And no thanks to Dice-K... I would't mind rolling the dice on Liriano though.
    Suck it

Yeah, I mean Joba is a good reliever but I don't get it either. But what were they doing w/ Joba when he came back from his injury, it kind of looked like they were trying to stretch him out... pitching him more than one inning at a time.
    Suck it

Joba should stay in the bullpen where he belongs. We need him there to be a bridge to Mariano, more than we need him as a starting pitcher. I would rather not see a repeat of the situation Boston faced with Daniel Bard in the rotation.

Money and or years is no issue for Kuroda....his homeland is calling, that is the issue....

    CC
    Pettitte
    Hughes
    Nova
    Phelps

    Why not?

Need to see if the young pups are ready for prime time......

Sophomore slumps should only affect Phelps.....Nova and Hughes need to start taking charge....

    CC - Andy - Hughes - Nova - Phelps

That rotation will not win a championship, unless one of the three kids is magically a stud.

Nova is obviously the best pitcher in MLB history.

    2- correct.
I think the 13.3M qualifying offer does not include a no trade clause, which Kuroda wants. Cashman has said he thinks the biggest threat of losing Kuroda is from Kuroda wanting to go back to Japan, not to another team. 1 yr/15M with a no trade clause would probably seal the deal.
