Hope so, Napoli would do wonders for this team.
With the deepest of regrets I am announcing that I will be leaving Pro Sports Daily. No reason in particular but wanted to thank everyone for a great 6 years here. Lots of great discussion and good poll series as well. Also fun re-drafts. Best of luck to you all in the future.

Not a great option (overpriced, too big and slow to play 1B, low BA) but at this point we need a guy who can slug and take a walk once in a while.

Napoli would be good on hopefully a 2 year deal (probably 3 though).

And I know he hit well at Fenway against Sox pitching, but I still think he would hit well here, no matter what pitching he faces. The trouble is him hitting away from Fenway, Arlington and Anaheim.

Yeap. Get out your roulette wheel. Set it for a tie 1 out of 7, a win 2 out of 7, and say goodbye to your money 4/7 of the time.

Yeah I love those odds on a long deal.

He hits worse at 1B then catcher, well below AL league average.

One or two years fine. Any more and it's like letting it ride when it's 4/7 against.

6/27/09: “We expect [Rondo] to play by the rules and be a leader as a point guard. We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

since '08 he has a line of .265, .357, .522 with an ops+ of 131...if he does that or about that he'll be worth it without a doubt.

Only thing that scares me is the fact hes 31 and having played catcher 75% of the time hes prob 33/34ish in "baseball yrs"...which is when regression really starts to happen.

Since '08 he has a 110, 115, 120 OPS+ seasons - on average below average at 1B. He has two much better years, but as you say he's nearing his decline.

    His career slash at 1B: .239/.328/.473 111 OPS+ (all since 2010 - 475 PA). Not inspiring.

When his decline starts, he might fall quickly. He isn't the greatest of physical specimens..... not sure how well he looks after himself, and all those years of catching? ehhhh
