Right and the Yanks and RedSox had tons of talent waiting on the Farm but just decided they would rather pay 3 or 4 free agents 20 million a year instead. Come on dude the Dodgers are doing the same thing the Yanks and RedSox were doing. They are choosing to try and buy a championship rather than be patient and build up their farm system. Personally if you have the money it doesnt bother me but is hypocrytical to **** on other teams that do spend and then act like its different when your team does it.

We had talent come up from our once great farm, Kemp, Kershaw, Billingsly, Dee Gordon & James Loney (to a lesser extent) A.J Ellis, Russell Martin. Traded for Ethier when he was a prospect in the A's etc.

The problem was once we brought up 6-8 guys McCourt basically slashed our funding to go out and scout, develop, and search the international markets.

And I'm sure the Red Sox would have rather won those two Championship then to have waitrd another 5-7 years to have a better team.

Dodgers have been in a.win now mode since 08/09'

89-90, if reports are true, isn't above average.

I've heard better than that, 88-92, with a peak of 94/95.

They also will probably have him in the pen early on so he might be able to max his velocity as he learns to get ML hitters out.

Did you go back and re-read the post you made, and what I made? Have you bothered to read? Why are you just now quoting this post? That post was two days ago, and there have been 5 posts made by me since then, but now you want to critique parts of it after you already responded to it? This is a horrible way to discuss this.

Upton isn't a cornerstone to their team, and he is gone now, so it doesn't really matter any longer. 13.6 rWAR in 6 seasons is replaceable. Their consistent 90 win teams were more built because of guys like Ben Zobrist, James Shields, etc. Two top draft picks, and a bunch of low level draft picks that they can continue to sustain and develop because of their 'Extra 2%' methods, and their free agent signings.

You clearly are not reading my posts all the way through yet again. It's impossible to debate with someone that shows such little respect. You don't even know what this debate is about, like the last two. You can't stay on topic, that's why you get responses like this, highlight this sentence if you actually read it. Because you go off the wall, don't read the posts, and are completely, 100% disrespectful. Do you really think your argument revolves around baseball when you just made a 119 word post, and 34 of them actually had something to do with baseball?

You went way off topic with that response right there, and it's from 2 days ago. Of course I'm not going to continue to go back and forth when you can't debate like an adult. And don't play this whole 'well I wish you would stop responding' card when you make 4 more posts quoting earlier posts after you say that. If you don't want me to respond, and you want me on ignore, then stop posting. It's really that simple. But don't say you want the discussion to end, and then keep it going.

Just drop it, I'll drop it too.
Dude. You just summarized perfection to a tee how exactly about 90% of the Cubs board feels regarding the guy. Join the club and put the guy on ignore.

apparently the Dodgers and Jin are not close on a contract. deadline is tomorrow.

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Dodgers and Ryu Hyun-Jin remain far apart in contract talks.
Hyun-Jin's agent, Scott Boras, typically plays hardball in contract negotiations trying to eke out every possible dollar for his clients. In this case, however, he may need to lower his demands if the two sides have any hope of striking a deal before Sunday's deadline. The Dodgers already made one "long-term" offer that was quickly rejected.
I don't know how this works. if there is no contract, do the Dodgers get their bid money back?
if so I kind of hope there is no contract, just so that a Boras client wont be getting paid.

Cash goes back to LAD.......player goes back to old team.

Not that this happened here, but it wouldn't be out of the realm that a team over bids to block someone else from winning the bid, when they have no intentions of actually signing him. Again, I'm not saying that this is the case here.
