    Offseason Off-Topic Thread

Tomorrow would be the optimal time to buy a new laptop online...Lenovo is good not great. Honestly I hated Macs and people who owned them for forever until I got one a couple years ago. Never going back--at least not in the foreseeable future. They really are that much better, worth every penny.

Yeah a well invested Mac is impossible to go wrong with, which sucks because I want to punch most of those kids.

What are the pluses and minuses with Lenovo? I haven't used any of their laptops, ever, but someone suggested I look at the brand. I meant to ask when it was suggested, but forgot due to life.

If you're going to go Lenovo I'd go with the new IdeaPad Y580. The good news with Lenovo's is that they're quite customizable (not quite Dell, but still very flexible)--you can basically tailor them to your price range and needs. For the Cons, they're a PC--so naturally they have dramatically more security and processing issues than Macs. As a former PC guy, I would definitely recommend a Mac if it's within your price range. Apple's innovation has been curbed in regards to the iPhone and iPad, but Macbooks are still the best in the business by a wide margin in my opinion.

****ing cool show of support by the Indy cheerleaders, shaving their heads on the sidelines in support of Chuck Pagano. Coolest thing I've ever seen a cheerleader do.

The Mac I bought in '07/'08 is only now giving me any kind of problems (keyboard went haywire out of nowhere).

The fact that Lenovo allows for pretty heavy customization was one of the things I really liked.

What is better about a macs processing? you do know that intel makes them for pc and mac right? Also the "more security issues" is ********.

Dumb to beat myself up over minor things like this, but how did I only now just hear of Skeptic magazine? Meanwhile I know what Treats is.

Have you been living under a rock??

    Snow Leopard >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Windows 7 or 8.
Yes, Intel makes the processors for both but the operating systems couldn't not be more night and day.

    Mac's also don't get viruses.

    It's not even close.

Liking one operating system more is not the same as saying one computer is better at processing than another.

    Shut it.
To some, he was just a boy. A boy who played football, a football player that grew to be a man. A man that took over a city, a city that he made his own, a city that stands behind him in hopes of becoming one of that cities all-time greats. To some, 2013 was a fluke. To some, he can't do it again. To some, he got lucky.

To us though, to the Philly faithful, that QB is Nick Foles. To us, that's our QB.

What's your budget? This site is great for finding deals on laptops and most of the people who post in the threads are well informed and helpful.

If you go intel, try to get a 3rd generation ivy bridge cpu since the integrated graphics is better than the second generation sandy bridge chips. Depending on how heavy of use you have, I'd look at an i3 or i5, the i7 is probably overkill. As far as brands I think it depends on the specific model of the computer. For instance the Vaio series by sony used to be really well made, and some still are, but they've also started producing a cheaper model of the computer. You also need to consider what size you need, a 17 inch laptop is nice at times but a pain in the *** if you are carrying it around.
