I just think it's ridiculous how the team is forced to throw on those situations because of their lack of faith in the running game.
Did anyone read Mike Smith's post game comments?
I read them, and it seemed like he was putting the blame on the O-Line instead of the backs (specifically Turner) before watching the tape. There is some truth to that, but all he has to do is look at how the opposing RBs were able to turn nothing into something when their lanes closed. How many times did we see Ivory or Ingram change directions or break a tackle when they hit a wall? The Falcons didn't/don't have that luxury, so they either have to be more creative on short yardage runs (with formation and/or personnel) or just put it in Ryan's hands. Lining up to run Turner straight ahead for a couple yards, when the defense knows what's coming, has not worked for this team in recent years.
