It's not a team that'll wow anyone with our batting average but there's 4-6 guys in the lineup with 20-30 home run pop so I would take a second look at our offense, especially now with our new lead off hitter Billy Hamilton setting it up for the lineup.
The average OBP of your lineup is probably .315. Nobody gets on base.

You probably would have been better off using the Peavy pick on a hitter when you already had Price and Cain.

No, he hasn't shown anything at the MLB level. Plus the "speed" at the top of the lineup thing is VERY overrated. Would much rather have a guy with average speed and a good OBP than a guy with elite speed and a .310 OBP

I think this is the first target I've had that I've been legitimately upset about missing out on, and he was only going to be a pinch runner/defensive sub for me.

    EDIT: Forgot Profar.

Like I said, I understand that point of view for sure. Ike Davis still has room to grow, so goes Pedro Alvarez who had a semi-breakout obviously but can become a better hitter. We've got a power hitting catcher which most of you guys don't so there's production coming from that position which is a bonus.

We set up our offense to be one that can put up runs in a hurry, not play small ball which is why we built it around power bats and great pitching.

True but I'll take my chances having that kind of speed at the top of the order, if he can even bunt he'll be able to hit .200 at least

You hope your leadoff can hit .200

You have the worst lineup in the game, probably.

I haven't looked at all the teams yet, or ranked them, but I'm just telling you why I would assume you aren't as high up in the rankings as you think you should be. Obviously your starters are great, just not a lot of real good offensive players.

Hamilton's got plenty of potential, and that speed alone makes him an asset to an MLB club right now, but only if he's properly used.

Dee Gordon didn't have quite the level of hype about his wheels but is a similar style of player, and he was pretty lousy this year.
