i honestly think we should try and sign marcum and e jackson. then trade 4 a good number 2 or 3 starter. then keep alvarez, happ, jenkins, etc as depth in case of injuries. i think that would be the best way to go.

trade
marcum
e jack
id roll with that
I think Sanchez gets at least 5 years and at least $14M per season. I wouldn't be surpised at all if someone gives him 6yrs $90M. He's not an "ace" or likely to be a Cy Young candidate, but those guys get $20M+ per year. He's only 28 and I know people like to say he's at most a #3, but the reality is that on most teams he's at least a #2.
****, wrong thread again!

AA on 5-yr #Jays limit on contracts: "There hasn’t been any talk of going beyond it right now. You never say never, things can change"Anibal Sanchez reportedly seeking $90m over 6 yrs. In general terms, could #Jays take that on? “We could accommodate that type of AAV."AA on priorities: "It’s a bit more of a wait-and-see approach with LF right now and being a little more aggressive in terms of the rotation"

I'm not sold on Sanchez for that price...committing $90MM to a mid rotation starter just doesn't seem like a good investment.
LOL Have you met Buck Martinez and Pat Tabler??
Nice keep it coming I always look for your name in every thread for those twitter updates.
If he has been going aggressive on pitching, then I wonder what that means because we haven't heard many FA's getting offers yet so maybe he's going HAM over the phone lines for a SP..

that would make us the 100//7 years teamanibal sanchez's price going up? he asked 1 team for $90M, 6 yrs, and another about $100M, 7 yrs.. I don't think we're gonna get him.
The escalating price for mid rotation pitchers is a big reason baseball needs a hard salary cap soon!
^^Yeah, cause they didn't say the exact same thing 5 years ago.

I can see Sanchez getting 14-15 mill over 5 years max. Wilson took a pay cut to sign with the Angels.
Agreed it's become a joke. Sanchez is good #2 and a great #3 but I guarantee someone will pay him as a #1. My guess is 6/90 is pretty damn close to what he signs for when all said and done. Who honestly thought Fielder and Pujols would have got those monster deals last year?? There is always some idiot ready to pay hence salaries keep going up. Hard cap is needed bad.
No way should AA cave into Sanchez's retarded demand's. Marcum would be a good signing and make a trade or two and I'll be happy.
I'm sure people will get pissed if AA doesn't make a big splash in FA but other than Greinke there really isn't much for starters. We might have a huge need for pitching next year but unless you can sign an Ace I wouldn't overpay not with the Big three, Hutch and Drabek all being ready the year after next or sooner.
