There is no way that the marlins wouldnt take that trade for stanton. Stanton hates being with the marlins right now since they had a huge fire sale so he will demand a trade and Nick Castellanos is one of the top prospects in the majors so the marlins would love to have him.
Dl1018 just read the previous post
I think they'd certainly have a shot at landing Stanton. If they offered Porcello, Castellanos, Garcia and Crosby.
Miami already has their SS and 2B, they would love to put Castellanos at 3B and Garcia would replace Stanton. They need pitching still and Porcello is a 24 year old veteran that could be their #2 and probably do better with a fast defense and the NL. Add in the strong relationship both teams have with each other, the odds improve. Other teams may have more prospects but not what they need. I don't see them trading him this year, but if they do, the only way I see the Tigers not getting him is if a team offers a couple top prospect arms with a good young bat or 2.
I would certainly trade all of those players for Stanton but Miami would be crazy to make the trade.

It'll take more upside, than your four names to get Stanton. Perhaps switch Crosby with Smyly - then Miami may seriously negotiate.
Also, NOBODY in MLB would insert Castellanos at 3B. His defense is atrocious. Lastly, if Garcia isn't being named as a top-4 outfielder by Detroit, then why would Miami name him in their Top-3?

His defense isn't horrid, not great by any means but could get by if his bat turns out to be what many expect. Garcia isn't top 3 in Detroit because of Dirks, Jackson and Hunter, wait a year or 2 and he will be.
If that trade happened, Garcia would potentially be their best OF. Pierre isn't special, Ruggiano is blah, and Stanton would be gone. The only OF prospects they have any good are Yelich and maybe Peterson. Adding Garcia would give them their OF. Therefore the only holes for them would be SP and 3B. Plug in Castellanos at 3B (if they HATE his d, OF is easy option) and Porcello would be their #2, unless Turner steps up big. Crosby would give them a LHP which they have 2 of.
No way can they trade Smyly and Porcello, then the rotation needs too much work. Only thing that makes Crosby look bad is the walks, but Miami doesn't mind taking that chance (perfect example in Miller).
Two wrongs don't make a right!!!!
