Wilson is already playing horrid as the #3 CB and Carroll has been up and down. Smith isn't Revis or a shut down CB but he is damn solid.

Exactly. He might not be a great CB but I would say he's above average. I would like to see him back next year as our #2 CB(he would be great there).

routt is still an upgrade to what we have on the field now, routt and smith would be better then anything else we can put out there

Becuase a rookie CB isn't going to come in an produce, not even Revis played well in his rookie season. They need time to adjust to the game, a pass rusher and or WR transition much easier.

He makes 11 million a year, that is a major salary cap hit for a player that has looked more like a 5 million player the last couple of years.

Edit:

Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha is due to earn a base salary of $15 million next season. Per a source with knowledge of the deal, $4 million of the salary is fully guaranteed. But $11 million isn’t; the question for the Eagles is whether they’re willing to pay Asomugha $4 million not to play for them — or $15 million to remain on the team.

Cutting Asomugha after the season would trigger no cap hit, other than the $4 million in guaranteed money. His contract had no signing bonus, with the Eagles using a structure that equates compensation to cap number each year.

but he had a bad game last week against the Cowboys:

The Eagles’ two starting cornerbacks, Nnamdi Asomugha (+1.7) and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (-2.7), have been responsible for some of Philadelphia’s struggles this season. DRC was the only liability in this game, though. Early on (9:20 left in the first quarter) he came toward Jason Witten (who had made the catch in someone else’s coverage) and proceeded to try and take on the talented tight end with only a shoulder, missing the tackle. The former Arizona Cardinal was also burned by Dez Bryant for 87 yards and a score on three of four targets (the incompletion was a Romo overthrow); even if the Bryant TD catch had been overturned for the ball hitting the ground, DRC was still flagged for interference which would have set up the Cowboys around the goal line
