    Franchise Cornerstones

I remember a thread like this a few years back and I haven't seen one since, so I thought I would make one. You can pick one QB, one LT and one DE to start a franchise with (considered by many as the three most valuable positions). It has been so long since I saw this that Josh Freeman was a favorite to build around.

I suppose if you think other positions are more valuable, choose them instead. So any three players you would pick to build your franchise around.

Take everything into account: age, ability, off-field concerns, etc

    QB: Colin Kaepernick
    LT: Matt Kalil
    DE: JJ Watt

    QB: Andrew Luck
LT: Joe Thomas (he's only 28 and the best LT in the game)
    DE: JJ Watt

I think LT is overrated though in that you don't need one of the best in the game to be successful. I'm torn between either Sherman (Revis' deal is ridiculous) or a second dominant pass rusher. Von Miller would be make the choice easy for me but I don't trust him to not be a dumb ***.

    QB: Cam Newton (homer)
    LT: Joe Thomas
DE: JJ Watt or Charles Johnson (homer again), due to their ability to pass-rush AND stop the run. I was going to say Wake, but no way I'd take a 31 year old pass-rusher as my cornerstone.

    Aaron Rodgers
    Jj watt
    Clay Matthews

Rodgers is still under 30 for a qb thats pretty young and also the nfl's best player, and with watt and Matthews the opposing qb would have about 2 seconds to throw in a passing league.

    ill go with
    QB Luck(obvious)
    Strongside DE: JJ Watt(Obvious)
3-tech DT: Geno Atkins<--best DT in the NFL today in terms of Pass rush.

and before its asked im running the Seahawks style defense.

Lucks shown to be capable even with an Above average LT and not much else.
