DPLennon Asst GM John Ricco said that with cost of starting pitching, teams eager to trade for it. I'd say high probability of Niese getting dealt

Why?
Deal Dickey not Niese...
They better get back quite a bit for him if that's the case.

I want a clear ****ing direction damnit.
If you deal Niese and keep Dickey, we better ****ing win now and spend money.
Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense.
I'd rather just be patient and deal Dickey, get younger and in better position to compete 2+ years from now.
What obviously makes Niese attractive is the control.
If the demand is that high, maybe the Mets get a Gio Gonzalez type package for him or a significant OF bat.
That's the only justification to trade Niese over Dickey at this point..
So get prospects for Niese and keep Dickey? Might as well blow the whole **** up then.
Trade Wright, Dickey, Niese, Ike, Murphy, anyone with any sort of value.
I don't get it either but i guess they can get much more for Niese than they can for Dickey.
That's the only substantive position i can think of.
You're right if they are doing that they might as well consider dealing everyone of value.
Those years of control mean a lot, and Dickey doesn't obviously have them.
Why Niese? yeah hes been fluky but he has kept a winning record and hes a ****ing lefty. Stupid if we get rid of him!

How about we read. We never said anything about dealing. Lennon said he thinks it will happen.
Whatever the case is, they should be leaning towards dealing Dickey not Niese.
A 25 year old LHP of his caliber (making next to nothing) should be part of our future plans while a 38 year old knuckeballer coming off a career year (due for a big raise) should be the one that they consider dealing.

Yeah it's his opinion that Niese will get traded, I still think it will be Dickey because he will make more money.
But why? Makes zero sense to me...
My team, my city.
What they should do:
Try to resign Dickey, if that fails, trade him. If it works, trade Niese. Bada bing, bada boom.
I have a feeling we're getting Justin Upton.
trading Niese over Dickey makes so much sense, Niese will get you young good talents, teams arent going to give up too much for a 38 year old knuckleballer
