Is Carlos Sanchez ready to replace Beckham or Alexi?

Is the switch-hitting Carlos Sanchez making Gordon Beckham expendable? The little White Sox infielder is coming
fast, with the latest anecdotal evidence his showing in a 14-12 Arizona Fall League victory last night. While election returns were coming in, Sanchez had four singes and a double as he set an AFL high in both runs scored (five) and hits (five) this season. Sanchez stole two bases and now has 10 overall, leading the league. Here's the thing with Sanchez: He's a plus fielder at second or short and hits the ball hard all around the park, which should make him a high OBP guy on a team that needs one; he doesn't have much power though, so he'd be a dropoff from Beckham in that department. He should be plenty productive, however -- hitting .370 in 30 games in Double-A as a 20-year-old last year. He could easily develop some power.
Something to keep in mind is that he can play shortstop, so Alexei Ramirez could be the guy in play in trade talks, not Beckham

I thought this could use its own thread...

Yes this kid is ready. He could be the third baseman that starts out. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if Beckham is traded.

I look for a Beckham trade to a team with a pitcher who could use a change of scenery.

SS is a position much more in demand. Could Alexi be traded?

I just don't see it, because they just extended him and GB is heading to arbitration this year. Unless you just threw Alexei out there and someone was willing to grossly overpay for him.

I see Sanchez at SS and alot of what I'm reading has him pegged there.

    What do you think sager?

He played an even amount of second and short this past season with some third base added in there. Can play any of them above average.

I still think if this kid was in a different organization he would be a top 50 prospect. Same with Trayce Thompson. But now everyone had this perception that the White Sox have a terrible system that will never get better.

If the Sox think that Jared Mitchell is ready flute the big leagues, they could shift Viciedo to 3B and put Mitchell in LF. Have this lineup if GB it's traded

    De Aza CF
    Sanchez 2B
    Rios RF
    Dunn DH
    Konerko 1B
    Viciedo 3B
    Flowers C
    Mitchell LF
    Ramirez SS

Trade Beckham and Floyd for pitching prospects.

That team might lose 100 games.
Mitchell isn't even ready for AAA.
And no way Viciedo is back at 3rd. They found a position for him where he doesn't embarass himself. Bill Melton today would be better at 3rd.

I definitely wouldnt complain about that. Viciedo has a strong arm, cant imagine he would be that awful at third. Surely he is a better athlete than Youk. Late in games you just have Morel replace him defensively.

there's no way Mitchell is ready. He needs at least another year at AAA.

This is stupid. Mitchell isn't even close to being ready.

    The Wizards' missing piece.
