    Bay!

Would you take a shot a Jason Bay for a 1 year deal.

do you think he is a steroid guy that is broken down and done
    or
just back luck and injuries.. He needs a new start fresh Start.

We need a RH bat with power and are limited with cash..

I am not sure I would but if he is cheap why not give it a try

Sounds like a project for a second division or rebuilding team. I could see the Cubs or Astros being good fits. If he signs a low cost 1 year deal with incentives and a team option, they have the potential to get back a prospect if he performs and he gets a guaranteed chance at redemption. Plus both teams play in good hitting environments.

If the Phillies want to take a rebound gamble they should be courting Melky. That's a first division option.

I would sign Bay to a minor league deal similar to what Kris Benson or Podsednik or Scott Elarton got. It wouldn't actually cost anything, little to no expectations, but just in case... JUUUUUUUST in case, he finds himself he fills exactly what is missing.

That being said, I wouldn't sign him until after I've addressed the other 2 OF spots and 3B with the guys expected to be in the Opening Day lineup. I'd probably wait and see if he were still out there around January 31st.

Fair enough. I don't think he will be though. A team like the Astros or Cubs will give him a small guaranteed deal to see if he can turn into a trade asset.

Back, Luck, & Injuires kind of sound like steroid after-effects to me

The man is fantastic. I would like my team to sign him again if they get another shot at him.
