Why haven't we already thought of this?

Actually, assuming an 8% discount rate, that would almost work out to exactly the same amount (in terms of present value) as the money his is owed today.

Jason Bay could not be on this team anymore. Too much bad karma surround him and his contract with the Mets. It was an inevitable move, but it still kind of surprising to see that the day has finally arrived.

I don't think it was a bad contract when he was first signed but he just took an insane nosedive. Glad he's gone.

I'm shocked, hopefully the deferred money can help us get players.

Watch him sign a minor league contract with the phillies and hit .260 with 40 bombs.... Would be our luck.

One of the few people on this forum that actually understands numbers. I agree with this move as long as it's not spread out too long.

The Bishop is very happy today.

No lights and no heat at home, but, at last, something to warm my heart!
Scarecrow: I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy: How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
