Mets part ways with Jason Bay-15 million is deferred must be paid by 2015 post #92

#Mets and Jason Bay have worked out an agreement that makes him an unconditional free agent. Bay Era in Flushing is over
#Mets did not announce terms of buyout but Bay owed $19M between 2013 salary ($16M) and 2014 buyout ($3M), so it's probably lge pct of that

Mets probably paid him about $17 million of that $19 million he's owed to go away.

WOW didn't even make it to Spring Training. I wonder if this was Jason Bay coming to the Mets and saying I want out. You know with the way he was playing he couldn't have been happy.

Bay is getting all $21M he is owed, the $16M salary, the $3M buyout and the $2M left on a signing bonus. Some is being deferred #Mets

More like Sandy saying he really-really sucks.
That's 3 FA he cut early.

KBurkhardtSNY Bay: 26 total homeruns in 3 years as a Met with a .234 average. Turned out to be one of the worst moves ever made by the franchise.

I always thought we would cut him, but not until ST. That is why I was wondering if Bay has had enough mentally and came to the FO about this.
