No clue how to post these numbers and make them make sense? Sorry. No big surprises in the first BCS rankings. ND is number 2 in the computer rankings like some people have said.

I definitely don't see the 2nd best team in the country play when I watch Florida, but as far as resumes go I suppose we've earned it.

i think that's because of the style of play our team is built around... teams that emphasize strong D and an almost one-sided offensive attack (specifically the "boring" running game) are usually going to be in closer, less-glitzy games, unlike, say, a west virginia, who will put up 60+ any given night, but not be able to stop anyone either.

so while we may not "look" like the #2 team in the nation, our incredible D and rushing attack (from both gilly and driskell) make us a VERY formidable team... and, as you mentioned, our resume is one of the strongest in the nation so far.

nevertheless, there is TONS of football left to be played.

I expected Oregon at #2, but doesn't matter this early in the year, the SEC will fix itself.

Quick question: Why do the computers love the Big 12 so much?

exactly... with so much football left to be played, especially between some of the top-ranked teams, things tend to sort themselves out.

as long as you're in good poll position right now, you have nothing to worry about.

The Big 12 only lost a couple of non-conference games, so it makes them appear to be very strong to the computers. I agree with your thoughts on how the BCS will shake out as well.

To SCR: We actually have 4 BCS top 25 teams

Oh yeah we aren't the 2nd best team in the country. We probably aren't the 2nd best team in the SEC....

I think they were ranked in the 20s.

Edit: They were 22 in the AP

It will all fix itself.... Unless we get down to the end and have something like

    Alabama
    Oregon
    Kansas State
    Notre Dame

    All undefeated

Ahhhh I didn't count Oregon State because I just seen the Oregon part and had already counted them
