    Yankees Claim Catcher Eli Whiteside

The Yankees announced that they claimed catcher Eli Whiteside off of waivers from the Giants. Whiteside appeared in 12 games with the Giants this past season and played another 60 contests with San Francisco's Triple-A affiliate. In parts of five seasons at the MLB level, the 33-year-old has a .215/.273/.335 batting line. He's arbitration eligible with a projected 2013 salary of $600K.

Which means he'll be in AAA with Romine
My friend: I think the NBA payed off the Heat in the first yr because of the politics. They threw game four and they payed Lebron because they were angry with what he did. So he had pay one way or another.

There is no one in the draft coming out and trading players isn't going to happen. The Lakers are in trouble.

I don't think so. in 2011 when Posey went down, Eli was the primary starter and Chris also played quite a bit...

At the beginning of 2012, Hector Sanchez won the backup role to Posey, Eli had Minor league options and was sent down. Stewart did not and was sent out of town. He would have been put through waivers if the Yanks had not picked him up in trade.

Eli may still have an option left. I am not sure at this point.
