Sprained MCL out at least 3 games. Not traveling with team on NYK/CHA trip.

Thats a big blow. Dahntay Jones and Jae Crowder should see a lot of minutes. Both rotating on Melo the whole game I would assume.

losing marion wont hurt as much as we think with our rotation the way it is. Now if he was out extended amounts of time, then yes. Crowder is more than capable to do 3/4s of that marion does.

Crowder is a great young player, and when Marion leaves/retires, he will likely be my favorite Maverick. I've always loved players like Marion and Crowder, who certainly have a similar playstyle (Josh Howard during his best days too). Slashers who can hit the 3 and defend well (Marion and Crowder both put D first, unlike Howard).

That all being said...no way is Crowder yet at Marion's level. Marion is arguably still a top 5 defensive player. We WILL miss him versus Melo and the Knicks with how well they are playing. I certainly hope Crowder and anyone else can keep Melo in check, but losing Marion just before that game sucks.

Marion hasnt been lookin as good tho. Not that I lost faith in him but he needs to wake up a bit on both ends.

Crowder is a good 3 pt shooter too (hopefully it's not flukey).

i agree that crowder isnt as polished on the defensive end as marion...but on what basis are we making that on? have we even tested crowder to see how he can do? no..we will find out soon. Even having marion, anthony would still get his points. We are a team with great team defense, having marion out wont be as bad as we think especially since our gaurds are a million times more athletic than last year and will make up for some of crowders short comings. The player im most worried about on the knicks is JR smith, always seems to bomb on us.

Wrights a beast! but yea he doesnt box out good or anything just jumps high.
Brands a better rebounder than Dirk tho

I hate to be pessimistic but I can really see the team getting our hopes super high and playing awesome (like they have been) just to lose in the playoffs due to poor rebounding..it can be a killer
