I'm not assuming that Chase won't be re-signed. And if 2013 is anything like the last two seasons, I would be offering a 3/45 deal with options.
Of course, having his medical records could change that calculus a lot.

Sources: #Rangers, Hamilton making progress. Deal, if reached, likely would be 4 yrs. But still possible another team could beat TEX offer.
If we have any chance at Hamilton...we need the rangers to sign greinke...not saying they wont do both but it would be unlikely. Also id rather grienke go to rangers than the ****ing dodgers
I think this has been proven false enough times by enough different teams at this point. Including our team last year.
Even large market teams need to have some talent coming out of the farm. When you don't, you become an old, expensive, injury-prone, and thin roster, and unless you get lucky from a health standpoint, that kind of roster construction ends up biting you in the ***.
Does everyone forget we won a WS with home grown talent and shrewd roster moves?
Victorino off the board...Hamilton getting cheaper?

Harry, I grew up with the phillies and learned the game by your voice. You will always be missed but never forgotten. Though you are no longer with us, you'll never be "outta here" in our hearts!
What would the Rockies ask for for Fowler?
They seem to be asking for May and/or Worley. Not sure if its both
^^^^I would give them both
For Fowler? No thanks.
Heres a big reason why:
.295/.395/.487/.882
.248/.331/.367/.698
what do you think you can get for Worley and may? honestly, Worley is not that good..and may might end up a bp guy...yea fowlers splits aren't great but they could get better cause he is young enough. oh and hes cheap
also he bats right and could/should leadoff for us
His splits arent magically going to get better, at least not to the point where hes a .800 OPS player. Its like Cargo; great player at home, atrocious on the road
Worley not good? I mean, sure hes not going to repeat 2011(likely) but you can probably count on him to be better than last year since he pitched a good long while with bone chips. You really shouldnt trade a guy who is effective and young unless its for a guy who we know is a good player.
Not a Fowler fan. Fowler = Mayberry of 2011. Meh. Brown has more upside than Fowler. If Bourn wants more than Upton (which was also too much) then forget him, too.
BTW ...Why were Phils so quick to non-tender Schierholz with no one signed or dealt?
I personally thought he played well enough for the Phils and against them to earn consideration. Especially is performance at CBP. Hopefully not a regret. A nice 4th or 5th OFer...if not, reliable breakout.
Because he was making 1.3mil and if they tendered him then he would have gotten a raise. Im sure if Nix wasnt on the team or making 1.3mil this year they would have kept him
