Tampa is letting go most likely. If you dont think Upton is worth it, then you should think the same of Hamilton. And if they did get him I would hope he would hit 4th with Howard down in the lineup and someone else playing the OF besides Ruff

I just can't see them adding upton in cf and add some avg player in rf and winning the Pennet. The Bp needs retooled as well. If they also don't fix that Bp they won't win ****

So why not get a cheap CF like upton or Pagan and spending the money on the BP? They have $135 mil in obligations for next year. Lets assume Hamilton gets something worth $20-$25mil annually. Thats roughly $155-$160mil and we know the Phils wont go over the luxury tax. Sure, they could get Hamilton and retool the BP+add a 3B+another OF for less than $20mil a year, but dont expect RAJ to do that

They got a huge tv deal in the works. Ratings went down last year. Giles will spend the money to get ratings up so they get that big pay check like the angels received

That doesnt mean they will go over the luxury tax. Its a business, and going over the luxury tax means they dont make as much money.

I would be fine if they signed Pagan and hope that he can be a consistent 4 WAR player, which is what Hamilton has been the past 2 years

You can observe this pattern with any split of player you can imagine. Moreover, players who were injured in the past are MOST likely to spend time on the DL.
