    My bad.

Yes. I know he was our best pitcher but he has ALOT of use on his arm. If he loses 2-3 mph over a two year or more contract, you think he would still be effective? He was hitting 93-94 with his straightest fastball but he worries me that is he lost a little, he will get lit up.

The offer on the table is a qualifying offer. It's a one year deal, similar to the way arbitration used to work. If he accepts it, he gets 1 year, 13.3 million. If he declines and goes elsewhere, we get a draft pick. And he's already stated he only wants 1 year deals at this point. So I'd imagine he'll either go back to Japan or take whats on the table. I don't think he could possibly gain by opting to free agency and trying to negotiate a different one year deal with NY.

And on 1 year, I'm not too worried about his velocity.

He may opt free agency as Boston and Dodgers are also showing interest among other teams

He claimed it was between NY and Japan. We shall see if he means it.

There's another report that says he's open to signing with other teams too.

Kind of crazy how much this offseason depends on Kuroda. There is a gaping hole in the rotation if he leaves.
