Yes Orton would be better and if romo keeps throwing to wide open defenders we might get a chnace to see him in action and see what he still has left. But we need a long term solution at QB... And the romo supporters are getting thinner
Also imo it doesnt matter what we have at QB, Jason Garrett is a idiot
Back to the thread tho, if this report is true, SP could've dropped the clause and signed that day and had the nfl approve it, this is what makes me think SP is pushing or pushed the issue and if so for what reasons?
wish i wouldnt of named this thread contract-gate

I don't think Payton can even negotiate for an extension right now. That's the worst part of all of this. The Saints will have to be in the dark until the offseason.
@LarryHolder: Jay Glazer said #Saints coach Sean Payton will absolutely remain with the team and will become the highest paid coach
After he signs with another team,
Payton: "Well, I'm still the highest paid coach!"
NFL supposedly rejected Sean Payton's contract extension signed in 2011 because of a clause that said he could opt out of the contract if GM Mickey Loomis was fired, suspended, or quit. Not sure what the whole story is but Dallas fans are dreaming if they think Sean Payton is leaving New Orleans.
Some WR's are divas. Then there's new Saints WR Kenny Stills
If we were the ones who voided his contract, I'd be concerned. I can't see him bailing on this franchise. The fans, players, and franchise have shown support for him through this whole thing. It would be an extreme slap in the face if he decided to go somewhere else to 'start over'. Talk about leaving us hanging if he did.
I'm more pissed off at Benson for letting Goodell walk all over him during this whole thing.
