I see a lot of people in the game threads have finally realized that the playoffs are not even close to happening and have started rooting for L's. Glad to have you aboard!

Anywho, the race for these lottery balls is getting extremely close. Anything from the 2-10 spot is open IMO. Charlotte is just too bad for anyone to catch them for #1. Unfathomable that they were 7-6 at one point.

    Here are the updated standings:

    Bobcats 11-37 -
    Wizards 13-35 2
    Magic 14-35 2.5
    Cavs 15-34 3.5
    Hornets 16-33 4.5
    Kings 17-33 5
    Suns 17-33 5
    Raptors 17-32 5.5
    Pistons 18-32 6
    T' Wolves 18-28 8

Our likely best case scenario is finishing 4th in lottery ball equity. Our likely worst case scenario is picking 10th.

Don't think I can emotionally invest in this team anymore this season. A golden ****ing opportunity with Drummond going down to put in a serious tank effort and we go out and beat the Spurs/Bucks back to back nights.

Team is so mother ****ing stupid it's unreal. Can't wait to see what scrub we get with the 13th pick.

Really really can't wait to see Joe D put us in another hole after the inevitable horrendous free agent deal to Josh Smith.

Porter should be around 10-15. No big deal.

    Dumars on tanking-

“Different organizations do things differently. I'm not here to cast any judgments on other organizations. It's just not what we've done. It's not what we've had to do here, in Detroit, to be good. We've just not had to go down that road. So just because that's what someone else does, that doesn't mean that that's what we do. We want guys to leave here with the bar raised. We don't want any kind of asterisk next to what we're doing. We play to win here.”

Dumars noted that three times in the last 22 years, the team with the worst record actually finished with the No. 1 overall pick.

“So just the numbers alone would ask you, 'What are you tanking for?' It's not like the NFL, where whatever record you finish with, that's where you're going to be drafting. It's to get in a lottery, and the lottery doesn't guarantee you anything. It doesn't guarantee you that if we'd been tanking games for the last two weeks, that we're going to get anything. Yeah, the odds are a little bit better, but three out of 22 years?

“It just doesn't make sense, from a standpoint of what it does to your players. If you allow that in your building, sometimes it's hard to get it out. If you allow that to be a part of your fabric, and who you are, it doesn't leave when you want it to leave sometimes. Sometimes, it's in there. So we're going to try to win. I mean, that's what we're here for. So whatever happens with the lottery, we'll accept that, we'll keep building, and we'll keep doing it the right way. That's the Pistons' philosophy. I'm not here to speak for other teams.”
And there you go. Pistons won't tank.

    Not your "bro".

And of course no GM is going to come out and say their team is going to tank, news at 11.

Now that's a first half we can get excited about. Getting right back on the horse after falling on our *** the last 2 games. Losing a team that we are frantically chasing would be huge.
