Is the start to Posey's career possibly the best start to a baseball career ever?

Minus 2011, his first 2 full seasons he wins 2 world series, rookie of the year, MVP(most likely) Hanks Aaron award, a silver slugger, comeback player of the year etc.

Has anyone started off their career more successfully than Posey?

Derek Jeter won 4 WS in his 1st 5 seasons, 1996 AL ROY, 2000 WS MVP. I'm sure there are others as well, but Buster is off to an excellent start.

This is Posey's first full year. Surprising.

Holy ****, that is an insane amount of WSs, but no MVP. The next few seasons will be fun to watch. I can't believe Jeter has never won MVP.

Haha the yankees of the 90s were a true dynasty. They sure will be. Jeter's consistency throughout the years is what makes him great, he's never had that dominant season like said winners although I thought he had a shot in 2009.

Derek Jeter was the first player that came to mind.

Francsisco Rodriguez comes to mind unfortunately. Buster has the edge though.

    THAT WOULD BE TIM LINCECUM.

    1)cy young/led league in k's
    2)cy young/led league in k's
    3)world series (playoff mvp)/led league in k's

    vs posey

    1)rookie of the year/4 hitter/world series ring
    2)injury season
    3)world series/batting champ/mvp

comparable but i'd give it to timmy based on Posey injury year, but certainly no slouch. timmy's last 2 years have been less impressive, but in terms of 1st 3 years, nobody can hang with timmy...ever

Hard to compare a pitcher and position player, since a pitcher only plays every fifth game. I think the edge goes to Posey, but I would be fine either way.

This article actually breaks down this question really well:
