I think the Cubs are giving us some $$ along with Marmol.. and i honestly think Dipoto is gonna go after James Shields regardless if we sign Grienke or not.. he almost traded for him at the trade deadline.. A rotation of Jered Weaver, Zack Greinke, CJ Wilson, James Shields, and Garret Richards?? i could live with that..

How does he do when out of the closer role? He seems like the type of guy who decides to only pitch effectively in that type of situation.

I still don't understand this deal. This is the opposite type of pitcher Dipoto talked about going after when we hired him. In fact, we just traded the type of pitcher he said he was going to acquire for the type of pitcher he said he wouldn't.

I thought Frieri was extremely wild last year and he only walked 4.3 batters per 9, Marmol has only done better than that once in his career (4.2)
