Real nice move. $10 mil for any closer not named Mariano Rivera is ridiculous. Shedding that is great. Haren is a much better asset to have even at the higher pay.

The kid we just picked up or the kid before that or any of a slew of propects like Zych is who I see being grommed long term for that role.

Smoke and mirrors. He posted 6+ BB/9 in 3 of his final four months. He was able to strand those walks more often, correct, but he still wasn't very good. His K/9 was about normal, sitting between 11-13. He still walks ENTIRELY too many.

Yes. But he was still damn good, his FIP was good every month but July. And his xFIP was never higher than 3.95 and was 3.65, 3.54, 2.97 in the other three.

Still, Haren is a nice get.

More to the deal is apparently the hold up Marmol has been notified he has been traded.
