Kuroda
They can either take the $13.3m one year deal or we get a draft pick if they decline.

Yankees LoHudThe Yankees have announced that they made qualifying offers to Hiroki Kuroda, Rafael Soriano and Nick Swisher. Soriano and Swisher seem likely to reject, but there’s a chance Kuroda will accept.
I hope Kuroda takes it and the others decline as predicted above.

@Yankees:
#Yankees decline to make qualifying offer to Russell Martin #HotStove
Giving Kuroda an offer means no haren:-(
Wrong, Wrong, and Wrong.
1. We do not know if Kuroda will accept. (We should hope he does)
2. Even if we get Kuroda we still have the money and rotation spot for Haren.
CC, Kuroda, Hughes, Nova, Phelps.... Seriously, you don't think we can bump Nova or Phelps for Dan Haren?
3. Kuroda was better than Haren last season. I love Haren, but he's showing more signs of decline than Hiroki, regardless of age.
On top of that, we might not want to trade any more prospects for a pitcher when we can try to retain Andy and Hiroki. The rumors already point to us having limited interest in Haren.

No to Napoli. Another slow, station to station, all or nothing guy, with zero defensive skills at any position. He struck out 35% of his ABs in 2012. Our own human strikeout machine (Granderson) struck out "only" 32% of the time by comparison.
Im warming to the idea of bringing Martin back.
He's still a better catcher than most out there.
But offensively you can't compare the two. Martin has pop and he knows this pitching staff.
He's still only 29 years old and he hit 20 + homers while providing a 1.5 WAR
He struggled all season long with his average but he got it up to .211 which is impressive (considering he sat on .190 all season long)
If he gets on base a little more via the walk and gets a few more breaks here and there on hits, he is a 2 WAR catcher for us for the second straight season.
Martin should be retained for a 1 year deal with an club option for next year.
I hope Swisher rejects
