Yea I heard that
Yup, read about it too. I personally like what he did with the young guys down there at STL. I hope we get to hire him, our players can learn patience and know when to gamble.
Anyone have a link?
I would love to have big mac
Hey guys...one of my first posts ever here. I've lurked for a while but now I'll check in from time to time. You guys have a kick *** forum and it's been an honor to read what you've had to say in the past regardless of whether positive or negative. This is a hugely informed forum and I'm glad to be a part of it.
As far as this topic...I just saw a tweet from Jim Bowden saying that the St. Louis Dispatch is reporting that McGwire will take the same spot with the Blue. Some on Twitter are already ragging on how he's now closer to the BALCO labs..heh. I don't know how to include tweets into this post otherwise I would. Yup I know...right now I'm a noob but I learn quick.

He'll teach our hitters how to juice up without getting caught.
Future Hall of Shamers:
(1) B.A.L.C.O. Barroids (2) Mark McJuicer (3) Jose Chem-seco (4) Rafael Palmeiroids (5) Ken Chem-initi (6) Jason Gi-andro (7) Ryan Fraud (8) Muscle Melk (9) Woman-Ram (10) Shammy Sosa (11) Roger Clear-mens (12) A-Roid
aside from the roids he was a consistent hitter when he was not hurt he had good years aside from all the home runs with big walk years he showed patience that will translate well to dee, dre, kemp, hamram, and the others

Umm okay
do not know how i feel bout this. I guess I am okay with it. At least we are going after good people and not just bums no has never heard of.
I like it if it's true.
heard it and love it.
i know he juiced but thats not an issue.
juicing makes u hit for power, but it doesnt teach u how to be patient and actually put a bat on the ball.
the guy was as patient as they come and look what he's done for the cards hitters the past 3 years.
the guy flat out hit when he was in the majors. i like the move.
supposedly he already told stl he wont extend his contract with them. his wife & kids live in orange county and he wants to be close to them.
come on down to LA big mac![]()

Mark McGwire will leave the St. Louis Cardinals to become the Los Angeles Dodgers hitting coach, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Friday.
McGwire, the Cardinals hitting coach the past three seasons, reportedly told St. Louis officials he will accept the Dodgers' job offer in order to be closer to his family in Orange County.
The 49-year-old McGwire was lured out of retirement three years ago by Tony La Russa, his former manager in Oakland and St. Louis. McGwire has since been credited with helping Cardinals hitters Matt Holliday, Allen Craig, David Freese and Matt Carpenter.Under McGwire's direction, the Cardinals led the National League in batting average (.273) and runs scored (762) during their run to the 2011 World Series titleIn McGwire's three seasons in St. Louis, the Cardinals have led the NL in batting average (.269) and on-base percentage (.337) and ranked second in runs (2,263) and fourth in slugging percentage (.416).![]()
