Is sandy a result of Global Warming?

It seems there has been no warming over the last 12-16 years, but has warmed over the last several decades. Since the history of the earth shows consistent warming and cooling trends that have nothing to do with human activity, it seems to me we need quite a bit more evidence before concluding that the current long-term warming trend is due in whole or in significant part to human activity. This is especially true since the supposed "cure" is draconian violence to western, free market economies. I also think it is suspicious that so many in the far left, socialist-type community so easily moved into the "Chicken Little, the world will soon end if we don't enact these extreme measures against capitalist economies" environmental movement. I also think it is also suspicious that so many leading AGW advocates have been caught fudging and misrepresenting data so many times.

I think we won't know with any degree of certainty for another 100 years or so. Most likely, by then, technology will have advanced to a state where we don't have to roll back free market economies to enact whatever fixes we might find are warranted.

By as in caught are you referring to climate gate. The scientist have been investigated 8 or 9 times and nothing was seen as incorrect or suspicious.

Anyone here who isn't a PHD and researching in physical sciences should not even open their mouth about the subject. This is a subject that should be left to the scientific community.......you know, the people who devote their lives to studying such topics.

I doubt anyone in this forum could even get get a physics or geology BA or BS from a well respected institution with a GPA of 3.5 without much struggle. So why are some people here even making opinions on a subject they know nothing about??????

If you want to argue about it, write a paper to scientific journals, and see the responses you get.

The fact that people speak on the subject without even being qualified, or without being in the world of science makes my head spin.

You're right. But I don't act like I know climate change. I leave it to the scientific community. Anyone to question or to have hard opinions on the subject should first go get their PHD (which can take 8-9 years if you do it right), and enter the research world and publish articles and write critiques, etc.

So we should all (including me) keep shut and listen to the scientific consensus. If you want to dissent, I invite you to start studying, get the qualifications, and come back to us 10-12 years from now once you have results.
