For Ethier alone, we're not getting Profar, Andrus, Olt, or Beltre so I would start thinking a bit more realistically

Do you ever add anything to a conversation other than "yes" or "no"?

Thanks for you "input", but I'm sure you're in a small minority on this.

I don't think anyone suggested a one for one at all...

I don't think it's a good idea to add Bourn. Therefore there really isn't a need to trade Ethier. Bourn is already 30 and will get overpaid big time. An OF with him and CC would be one dimensional, aging and overpaid. Both being left handed doesn't help. We need to find a lead off hitter if Crawford isn't going to do it, but trading Ethier and paying Bourn probably more isn't the answer.

    No...

But seriously Beltre might be slightly superior to Dre, but in the end he's not that superior to where it's worth Cap and or Gordon + Cash...

Put me in the minority but that's how I feel...

Beltre for Dre + specs would have been great 2 years ago. Now I really dont like that trade at all. He is a basic rental at this stage of his career. We might get 2 years max of decent production before he becomes a problem. I am content with keeping Dre and seeing if he has a bounce back year. I am done with the need for greed and happy with the team we have. It will contend for sure. I also think that the front office will look to improve our infield without trading Dre and using our surplus of pitching to improve the team further. We will see but right now, I dont think we are hurting that bad to just give up Dre for an aging veteran in Beltre. Talk about Headley and I would listen for a package including Dre though but thats not likely. As I said, only if we can net a player that is in his prime and can be had for a decent price, do I think we will even consider trading Dre.

Since Ethier isn't getting traded and this is going even further off-topic, I'll just lock it now...
