I like it and think might be in prep for something bigger for Oregon Sports.

Like what I read about him...now lets see what happens on the business end and if it conflicts with the GM. They say Olshey has (complete) control of basketball operations.

I don't believe for one second that Olshey and the basketball side of operations will be adversely affected by this hire. My only concern is it is not that hard to do a good job on business end when dealing with LA. Have a team capable of making the playoffs and that entire town being a bandwagon will file into the seats.

It is hard when your sports are hockey and soccer. Trying to get butts in the stands for those sports when there is so much competition with regards to other sports and the general nature of things to do in LA is a huge challenge.

That would be why I am not discounting his ability. Just thinking regardless of sport it is hell lot easier to get fans then most city's in America. Still reading about him and how quickly he climbed the ranks, he was a real get for us. Also at this moment I am crossing my fingers either Kings move to Seattle or they get an expansion. I know Allen has fought off those who wanted him to move the team in the past, just make me breathe a little easier when they get a team and we still have the Blazers.

I totally get what your point is, just wanted to throw in my two cents. My thoughts on soccer and hockey in LA was just an educated guess and I may be discounting the interest level of those sports in LA.

Yes it is! I'm so excited to see how he develops this season. He's going to be the next great Oregon point guard.

Agreed with that, his work ethic is there and he has the skills. All Oregon needs to do is surround him with talent. My cousin played at a nike camp for west coast kids. He was there and good god can the boy handle the ball! Look up any youtube video on him and he makes even the better defenders look silly.

Agreed, Artis has a ton of upside. I've been very impressed with how he stays under control, and that is usually a big issue for Freshman point guard. His defense has also been a pleasant surprise to this point. Oregon has quite a bit of talent this year, and young guys like him and Dotson will only get better. Big test tonight versus UNLV, and I'm hoping we pull off the upset!
