Sad we never got the chance to see what he is capable of.
Panthers released CB Brandon Hogan with an injury settlement.
They're washing their hands of Hogan. The 98th overall pick in the 2011 draft, Hogan suffered an August knee injury after tearing his ACL in December of 2010 at West Virginia. Hogan figures to get another chance once his health situation clears up, although he has a history of off-field problems and the durability is an obvious concern. He's now an unrestricted free agent.

Unfortunate and the timing is curious (he's not taking up a roster spot), but I think it was inevitable. Maybe they didn't think he was working hard enough to get back, or maybe they thought he simply wouldn't be able to recover.
