Considering he is under our control for a few more years and his worth can't get any higher than it is now, maybe we should wait to make him a deal. Also, when ever someone gets a long year contract they simply have less incentive to work hard. It's a lot easier to work hard knowing the future of you and your family depends on it. However, it is Posey I don't want to toy around with him, so I could go either way.

We're gonna get a discount from Posey. At least that's what I think.
Wouldnt it be smarter to wait till after this coming season? Not after a MVP season?
I'd sure think so....assuming that he doesn't win two in a row.
They have to deal with arbitration this year anyway, they might as well see if they can get him to agree to a Bumgarner or Sandoval type deal instead of ending up in a Lincecum type situation where in 2016 they're paying Buster $20 million.
I think it'd be much smarter to wait regardless. Much more risk at the catcher position and he's still barely had two seasons worth of AB's.
they may have to pay him that much any way.
For life really? I have never understood the fascination with this whole 1 team career thing, if Kobe left and played for someone else does that make him any less of a laker? I don't think so, and most athletes don't age as well or work as hard as him. The dodgers have a good situation with Kemp LA has him until he is 35 then he hits free agency, after that it doesn't matter, i don't care if he leaves, LA got his entire prime he wont play better from that point on and i would rather not waste money and AB's on sentimentality. It just doesn't make business sense.
That's two too many.
