    question for you guys!

What's up rockets fans. I'm a huge bulls fan and I have a question for ya. Do you guys think you could compete right now with the likes of Lin, harden, asik. Or do you think there is something missing? What are your thoughts about a possible mid season boozer or gasol trade to really give you guys a legit number 2 option and low post offensive player?

I have no interest in either of those players (unless you are talking Marc Gasol). Boozer plays no D and has a bloated contract and Pau Gasol is on the downside of this career. The Rockets need to add players who are entering the prime of their career.

In my view the perfect complement is Thaddeus Young of 76ers. He won't be available but A front court of Young, T.Jones and Asik is very versatile and would work well together. I hear people talk Josh Smith, but I'm not a fan of his offensive game.

I thought we'd be monsterous if we had YOUR Taj Gibson but he took the extension and the Bulls got a great 4 at a bargain price.

One thing's for certain, we're relevant and interesting and exciting to watch again.

I wouldn't touch Boozer with a 10-foot poll because he's atrocious on defense, he disappears in big games and his contract is one of the worst in the league. There was a time when I would have wanted Gasol, but given that there's only one player on this roster older than 26, Pau just doesn't make sense anymore.

I can't see Morey going after any big names in their 30s. He'll look for young, improving players or stars in their mid-late 20s.

i don't think we can compete for the championship with Lin, Harden, and Asik. At best, we'll probably just reach round 2. in order for the team to be complete, we need to add one more bonified star.

that said...i don't think boozer, pau gasol, or marc gasol is the answer. boozer is too inconsistent and lazy....pau gasol is on the tail end of his career...and marc gasol is not good enough of a scorer to be the star that carries us over the hump.

Patterson is pretty much a younger, less refined, more athletic Boozer. So no.

The only thing Boozer and Patterson have in common is they both always seem to be hurt.

I'm really hoping he can rebound from his terrible season last year...

Big THX to MJ's Bulls and pheagles10 on the sig help!

    It's gonna be Josh Smith...

Watching JJ Hickson last night makes me sad, he's starting to show signs of why I liked him before he was drafted, and was picked up off waivers on the cheap by Portland.

I think Jones could be a borderline All-Star. This team is a few years away no matter what, so a major trade would be a bad move. The Rockets need backcourt depth more, I think. I would try to trade Morris or Patterson for a shooter/defender off the bench.

I don't think the Rockets will make another deal until later til the deadline. We will wait and see how Jones and Montejunas pan out.

    Lin/Harden/Parsons/LMA/Asik would be sexy

Imo Aldridge is softer than charmin. He puts up numbers but every time I watch him play he never wants to bang inside. This goes all the way back to the Texas days. I'd probably take an aging pau over him.

As a UT grad and a close LMA fan, I'm gonna have to agree to disagree. He doesn't exactly bang in the paint like some guys, but he's an excellent post scorer, a very good defender in the paint and a plus (but not great) rebounder. I'd take him over any PFs in the NBA not named Love or Nowitzki.

But with Aldridge locked up until 2015 and with the addition of Damian Lillard and re-signing of Batum, I really don't see Portland parting with him unless they're really, really terrible this season.

not exactly sure what a close fan Is? His post game is a high post with a 15 ft fade away. It just doesnt seem right to be An athletic 6'11 pf/c shooting fadeaways and elbow jumpers. I just never see him in the paint enough. His defending I would say is good not very good. He gets by too much with his length as a defender. He actually surprisingly gets rebounds for always being so far from the rim but if it were up to me I'd honestly rather have Scola back than ever sign aldridge. I'm pretty big into ut sports( used to ball with Damion james) and I always hated aldridge for him being so soft.
