We have 12 players under contract for next season accouting for 67.7 million. 3 of those 12(Thabeet, Orton and Liggins) have non guaranteed contracts totaling about 3 million.
A big that can finish at the rim and hit open shots, a post presence would be excellent but it's not like these guys are growing on trees.
Shooting depth, the series we just lost speaks to that, we should have had 1 or 2 more guys capable of coming in, spacing the floor and making shots, preferably veterans.
3rd point guard, whether it be vet or young guy we'll need a capable 3rd guard
Backup center, we need to upgrade that position, preferably with someone else with the qualities i listed above
I cant see Kevin Martin re-signed, even at a discount i dont see the value of re-signing him with Lamb waiting in the wings. Now i dont think Lamb is gonna be ready to score 15 points per game, nor does he have to, but he'll be able to hit open perimeter shots, drive for floaters, layups etc. and get in the open court. Big thing for him is gonna be getting stronger and being consistently solid defensively. I fully expect him to be in the rotation this season.
They have to look into amnestying Perk, he had a negative per for the playoffs for god sakes lol. I appreciate what he brings off the court and how he help this team take another step but i'd rather see them move on at this point. Seeing if Al Jefferson would take less to play here would be my first option if not looking into the trade market. Once you have secured that guy then you can waive Perk but they arent going to do so just to do it. The guy has to be a clear upgrade on offense(which wont be difficult lol) and be able to hold his own defensively.
Would love to see Fisher back as the 3rd point guard but Brooks would be so tempted to make him the backup SG we couldnt risk it lol, maybe bring him back late in camp after all the roles are estabilished
