^The Isles owner said he was gonna honor the lease, but when asked if there's a chance theyll get out of nassau sooner, he said "anything is possible" which basically means he's gonna try

Are you talking a Portland/Seattle team? I hope so. Bay Area sounds ok but definitely not SoCal...

Great move, they will find a way to add more seats.

Too bad they have to wait 3 years.
It does from Jamaica when you make the switch to Atlantic Terminal.

It shouldn't be that difficult, it's like all the extended service on the 7 train to Citi Field or the connection from Woodside to Citi Field from the LIRR.

It's a minor inconvenience but if you love the Islanders it shouldn't be a huge problem like some are making it out to be.

That was my thought. I'd look at either of those or Milwaukee (even though it's not west coast)

Wisconsin would have one of the few other suitable replacements beside Quebec.

Alaska has the climate but not nearly the population.

There are enough California hockey teams to begin with.

As for the midwestern cities, they would come out for a hockey team but the Islanders belong in NY and nowhere else.

If a city wants a hockey team petition it to Gary Bettman when this whole lockout fiasco is over.

I personally think they are missing out on huge revenue by not changing from the NY Islanders to the Brooklyn 'insert name here'.

Yeah probably but it's good they are keeping tradition.

They can still call them the NY Islanders and they should.

I wouldn't be surprised if they change their logo around a bit though as they get closer to moving to Brooklyn just to increase jersey and other merchandise sales.

I wouldn't trust an NHL owner for honoring anything

Charles Wang has sacrificed millions of dollars a year to keep a decrepit team in a decrepit building and fought like hell, much much much loinger than any other owner who was thinking money first would have, to keep the Isles in NY, and he's done it.

I certainly respect him and expect him to honor the lease. If he doesnt, more power to him as the fans probably want to get out sooner
