Didn't you read my post, the Royals want a pitcher like David Price or a similar talent for one of Gordon, Hosmer, or Moose, a.k.a., it's not happening.

    1. would be stupid not worth it in the long haul
    2. not even close in value
    3. have to trade top prospects which right now isn't happening
all the rest are realistic but don't see the first 3 happening

I realize that the below is drastic, but it would set us up for the future:

    1. Trade CC to Texas for a package of young players, including Profar (SS)
and Joey Gallo (1B). Then, we can put that money towards David Price
after 2015 to be our ace after we drop below the $189 mil cap.

    2. Trade Mark Teixeira to the Nationals for a package of young players,
    including Anthony Rendon (3B)

    3. Package Cano in a deal to the Marlins for Stanton. Might have to take on
Buerle's contract, but it would be worth it.

    4. Dump Granderson and Hughes for Justin Upton.

    5. Swisher walks.

    6. Soriano walks.

I think the reality is that no young, building team IE: Washington is going to surrender any potential top prospect for anyone on our roster. It would be contrary to their business model, and quite frankly, outside of Cano, there are comparable substitutions on the free agent market.

If the $189 million ceiling is real, the Yankees can hope Rivera and Soriano do not come back, install Robertson as closer, and bring back Ichiro, Kuroda, Petitte and perhaps Chavez on short, relatively low contracts and fill in from there.

A trade for Headley (if you are sold he would be a consistent producer in the AL East) is very unlikely. The players of value we do have are not locked up long term to team friendly contracts.

Cashman has had success in finding established players and working with a nearly full roster. I don't think the a massive move is probable, or even possible, but a smaller deal that may infuse some life into the roster is.

I dont think holding on to the current roster is good. I would do what you can to rid yourself of A-Rod. Package him with Cano and a prospect (Warren or another young arm). In the long run, it would be worth it.

Unloading Arod doesn't help the cap. If we pay his salary, it still counts towards the $189m. So what's the point? It's not like ur going to find a better 3b.

And then you have to also pay a new 3B. People seem to think getting rid of ARod any way possible is best for the team but unless another team pays a decent amount of salary or gives us actual useful pieces it will hurt the team more than anything.

Doubt it swisher is the worst all time at hitting with risp in postseason history.

Hoping to see Ichiro get a one year deal, seems like he loves it with the Yankees and still has some game left. Hoping Mo doesn't take us to the sword and demand too much money or take too long to make a decision and cost us a shot at keeping Soriano. Hope Andy plays on and decides quickly, he can drag negotiations worse than any player I have ever seen, will I or won't I? Give him two weeks Yes or No final answer, the Yankees shouldn't have to beg someone to play here.

If we are trying to save cash, is Chris Dickerson an everyday option? I have not seen alot of him but I have liked what I seen. Seems to have big power and a really good athlete in the outfield.I think Russell Martin will be back don't see a viable upgrade out there (McCann maybe?) Maybe a left hander for the pen, really felt Boone got overworked and really struggled late in the year.

No chance Alex is leaving and no reason he should. Still a great third baseman and presence in the lineup. Why pay him out, then pay for a supposed upgrade at 3rd? Makes no financial or baseball Just my sense. Just my two cents worth, don't see too much happening.

Many people see the Yankees bringing in Mike Napoli regardless of the concern of him behind the plate. I think he fits well in our offense. He's such an offensive force.
