Does anybody remember when many reporters thought that Joe was going to sign Hedo Turkoglu and Carlos Boozer instead of Charlie V and Ben Gordon? Also what players do you Joe should've signed in the 09 offseason?

All four suck, the entire 09 Free Agents were a complete disappointment.
I remember wanting us to go after Turk after watching him in finals that year and I remember wanting us to trade for Boozer when he was in Utah but looks like none of that would have worked out very well.I actually remember being excited about signing BG also because at the time he was dropping shots from everywhere and just looked like the best shooter in the league but I remember thinking Rip would also be gone after we signed him.
I'm glad we didn't get either Boozer or Hedo. I wanted Boozer soooo bad too lol
Yeah, I also remember wanting Boozer to sign here, lol.

Yo what was the deal with Kobe supposedly being a piston in 2007?!?
Kobe for Amir Johnson, Rip, Tay, and a 1st was the rumored deal. Kobe squashed the trade idea though.
I wouldn't have wanted it to go any other way. I was excited about Ben Gordon and was kind of WTF about Charlie at the time, but I figured we had to spend the money then or we would have had to sit on it. (My theory is that Joe knew the team was going to be sold and everything froze until then, so he did what he could to use the money)
All I know that everything we did lead us here... To Moose, to Knight, to Drummond and Singler and Kim English and Middleton. I feel like everything created that perfect storm that sucked to watch at the time, but in the long run will be a blink in time when we think about it. I truly believe we will be talking about the "Going to work" team and then whatever we call this new era like they were back to back once they succeed.
Other teams have been rebuilding into mediocrity and then rebuilding again. Our process has been bumpy, but I feel like this team can be so much more then an "almost good" team that other franchises are putting out.
I can't wait until next off season when we have money and when we can attract a high quality free agent who wants to come play with our young core to "win a championship" before they retire. Imagine vets wanting to come here... it could happen sooner then later.
Meh, the biggest issue that I've seen with Boozer is that Rose can't run the pick and roll. He ended up in a double team every time. Every screen they did backfired and they continued to set them. If you can't run the PnR you shouldn't sign Boozer period.
