Josh Smith?

I know...I know...another Josh Smith to Pistons idea...right. But seeing as in that one article posted in the Josh Smith thread in the NBA forum, the signs are evident that he's not gonna want to be in ATL for his future. We've got cap room this upcoming offseason, and there's no doubt in my mind that Joe D will in fact make a move for him. Think him coming to the D will realistically happen? Why or why not?

The last year of Josh Smith’s contract is coming up, but don’t expect the Hawks forward and his team to be talking extension details over the course of ’12-13. According to the Daily News, Smith is planning on working out his following deal next summer: “Josh Smith has told the Hawks that he isn’t going to sign an extension during the season. He’d rather wait to become a free agent, when he can get a five-year deal. An extension would limit him to a three-year deal, according to the new CBA rules. New GM Danny Ferry has upwards of 10 players who could be free agents at season’s end.”

I like his game, but I don't think he would be a good fit. If we didn't have Monroe or Drummond, I would be all for it. I think if Monroe continued to play center, then he could be our main PF. As we sit right now, I like our key players. If he could play SF at the same level, then I might think different.

I don't know if I want him as a SF. If he comes here he will have to play at SF or force Moose/Drummond off the bench to play PF.

Agreed, I think we are close to the bottom in 3 pt shooting as is.
