PINEDA out till June 2013 maybe longer

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...ankees-pitcher

in an interview with Ian O'Connor on ESPNNewYork 98.7 FM (per ESPNNewYork.com), Yankees general manager Brian Cashman gave the latest update on Pineda's status for next season.

On Michael Pineda's return from major shoulder surgery: "We have to keep him off our radar for now. ... We're talking June of next year ... the second half of next year."

The return date of June 2013 or later is a surprise considering it was thought that Pineda would be back by spring training 2013, but that appears to no longer be the case.

I miss george. He'd just get a new pitcher. This whole making money over winning world series attitude is cocksucking.

"keep him off our radar" = sign someone else and not rely on pineda next season, they will be getting another pitcher for sure

When you say another pitcher are you talking about a big name or guys on a minor league deal?
Friend: I think the NBA payed off the Heat in the first yr because of the politics. They threw game four and they payed Lebron because they were angry with what he did. So he had pay one way or another.

F:There is no one in the draft coming out and trading players isn't going to happen. The Lakers are in trouble.

F: Vogel doesn't run that team. Shaw does. If he leaves they are going to suck and Vogel will get fired.

I would guess someone in between, someone easy to shed after a year or 2 that will provide decent service in that span. If we get kuroda and andy back, no need to go get anyone though. Its a good philosophy to have anything we get from Pineda in 2013 be a bonus rather than relying on him to give us 150 innings or so and then falling short

Very well said that's the best way to look at it.

We need to hire the pitching coach who helped Randy Johnson gain consistency and control in Seattle to work with Betances. Whoever we have right now, isn't doing it. He has actually regressed from the past year.
