Look, you seemed to be the most firmly rooted in this belief, that's why my questions were directed at you. I just think blindly praising the NFL and getting all warm and fuzzy over the effort is ignoring other parts of the issue.

Anyway, i'm out for tonight. Carry on.
One thing for sure, it is easy to diminish the effort of others from the cheap seats. I am not blindly praising the NFL, I am accepting the fact that their effort is done with good intention. As far as your "what ifs" driving critical thinking, I fully understand the unappreciative just fine.

People should think of donating especially because many people, especially those with cancer need these money. It's not that hard to help others as long as you help from the heart. Many of our fellowmen need donations for their medications and all other medical needs. Hardly any in the way of funds actually goes to dealing with cancer or research from sales of National Football League pink jerseys. Teams do have to make cash, after all, but the share allotted to actually fighting cancer comes from sales of the pink gear. Resource for this article: why certainly not have a look at quickly this website?

I think given the likely free-air-time commercials plus the 5% they probably do more than enough. I bought a BCA Redskins hat for a relative of mine that had a sister die from breast cancer, but I can honestly say that I'd rather just donate money directly or wear a pink pin or something. I'm not the pink-wearing type, plus I think pink + NFL team colors looks goofy. Also, the whole outrageous NFL.com merchandise part isn't exactly a turn on to begin with...

Does anyone know if the NFL works with Komen for the Cure? I used to donate to that whenever someone was fundraising, but recently I found out that they refused money that a porn site raised, which has turned me away from them.

I'd be more okay with the NFL profiting at such a large clip if they didn't pat themselves on the back so much for what they're doing.

I expect those that are most critical of this program, the next charitable dollar they give will be their very first.

if you want to support breast cancer, donate directly, not threw a third or fourth party. many companies market this way. i saw an ad for 5 hour energy pink lemonade where a part of the sale goes to breast cancer research......
believing what you believe in. sticking up for your rights and sticking up for the rights of others from time to time. do it your way. don't let the culture tell you what to do. that's being a Raider. -Al Davis

Hahaha! No better company to raise money for cancer awareness than an energy drink company!

I was in Boy Scouts and logged over 300 hours of community service. I'm currently in the Army and I volunteer at food shelters about once a month.

So, I suspect you'll find people are a lot more charitable than you'd believe.

As for the NFL, I agree they are making a difference, but it's hard for me to believe they have completely altruistic intentions when they pocket 95% of the profits...
