No. He has a good defensive mind and was successful as a DC, but as HC of the Jets his antics and infatuation with making predictions have been laughable.

i would say yes on the fact that he is a great defensive coordinator but a lousy head coach

What is this? WHAT??? You cannot be serious.

Rex Ryan wouldn't take our DC job. He would take ANY DC job over ours.

He won't be fired this year anyways. If the Jets don't make the playoffs, then next year will be make it or break it for him.
Five rounds went by in the 2000 draft... After 198 other players had been chosen, the Patriots drafted him in the sixth round.
Owner Robert Kraft recalls the night he was leaving the old Foxboro Stadium when he saw "this skinny beanpole" carrying a pizza. "He comes up and says, 'Mr. Kraft, I'm Tom Brady.' I said, 'I know who you are, you're our sixth-round draft choice from Michigan.' "And he looked me right in the eye and he said, 'and I'm the best decision this organization has ever made.' "

I guess I don't know why we would need a DC unless ours takes a HC job somewhere.

In a heartbeat. The guy knows defenses and is as good a DC as anyone. Yes, he 's a bit of a loose cannon and speaks before he thinks but I also think he has a great deal of respect for BB despite the bluster and would be willing to get with the more conservative Pat PR program if he came here.

No thanks. He's the most obnoxious coach in the league

He's a great defensive mind. I'd take him as a DC. He wouldn't talk anywhere near as much if he was coaching under BB.

He's a defensive genius and we have a weak defense... if he'd be willing to buy into the role as BB sees it (no talking) then sure. Doubt he would do that though.

I think he might. We had Rob on our staff for a couple years and he didn't say much. I assume that he's not that different from Rob. So if Rob can do it, don't see why Rex can't.

But I agree, he'd def have to shut his mouth to get a job here.

I'd be down. His defensive philosophy is much, much different from BB's though so I think that's the even bigger issue.
