    Greg Garcia

    AA
    .284/.408/.420 10 HR, 10 SB, 504 PA

    Compared to league average
.256/.326/.389 in the TL at the age of 22

    Defense is solid, not great.

He is more than ready for AAA, and can handle MLB if required.

He is already better than Kozma

This is your long term solution guys . Any guy that plays short for us will be for 2013 only, so limited resources should be used. I'm not saying it wouldn't be wise to go for someone that help us in the longer term there as well, but you have to hope that Garcia is the shortstop of our future.

I'm really looking forward to Shelby Miller joining the starting rotation. I thought he looked great in the playoffs this year. I want to see more of him.

I'm on board with Garcia if he shows good quality in AAA this coming year.

lets get motte freakin extended with all this money coming off the books

maybe boggs/Mujica too if its cheapish

and since the payroll drops significantly more after next year, lock up Affeldt or sean burnett to a nice fat 2 year 6-7 million per year deal

I wanted to give Motte 3/10 with a 4th club option before this season instead of going to arb with him.

I still think it was the right choice to have made.

Even if he needed as much as 15, it would have been worth it.

Motte is a very good closer. We all say him blow a few this year but when you lock down what was it? 42/48? I know it's in that area, I'm just being to lazy to look. But when you have that many attempts you'll blow a few. Plus I think they were all 1 run games he blew

But when you have someone this durable and this good you gotta lock him up through his arb years or it could burn you.

Motte has shown really good control since coming up, very consistent high speeds. I've been very happy with him

I don't know about that. I think it just depends on how he develops himself, if he gains even more command and can locate it on the corner 96 on the corner is still very hard to hit

I would like to see Westbrook moved to the pen and have Kelly or Rosenthal in the rotation. I think Moz pulled the trigger too soon and resigned Westbrook before he saw the development of those two guys. He would be an expensive middle innings guy, but could also step in the rotation if/when someone goes down with injury.

I like Kelly and Miller for the rotation. I'm not sure if Rosenthal has a 3rd pitch. He was great out of the pen. Not sure how he would do multiple times through the order. I like him a lot though.

Motte has gotten a little better each year. If he continues to develop other pitches, a slight loss in velocity won't hurt him as bad. He would be real nasty if he got a nice change-up to go along with his cutter and high heat.

We have a ton of starting pitching. I'm not mad about it.
