Oh wait... NO HE FU(KING doesn't!!! I can't wait for the first "fan" to come on here and pick apart his play this week. The guy was damn good today and I hope all of you nay-sayers recognize.
exactly, last 2 weeks he has been really on point. He was the first 4 weeks but he really stepped it up the last 2. Minnesota better be scared were gonna tear the dome down
He has been positive the last 2 weeks. If he can finish the year on point we will do well
I was going to title the thread "Josh Freeman Sucks" but I figured it would get taken down just that fast. Obviously you all get the point.
On pace for 4100 yards, 29 touchdowns, and only 13 interceptions. If he keeps it up an argument could be made that he's a top 10 quarterback.
He held this team together in the second half plain and simple. It would of been very easy to quite after they went up 35-21. Did we? No and he was vital in the effort to comeback. Even on the last play scrambling avoiding pressure making a good decision. He is a FRANCHISE quarterback, like it or not
Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Peyton and maybe Eli are the only elites. Not Big Ben, Not Schaub or Alex Smith, not Vick, Romo, Cutler or the rest. We don't need an elite top 5 QB we need a good solid above average quarterback who can do different things and if he evloves into that elite class thats great/
14 of the last 16 Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks were named, Manning, Rodgers, Brees, Rothlesburger, Brady, Elway, Warner, and Favre. The other 2, you might ask? That is where the Tampa connection comes in: Johnson and Dilfer.
All that doesn't mean tish, though. I don't care about pretty stats, I care about wins. Phillip Rivers and Matt Ryan = A-Rod--EMPTY STATS.
Also, elite quarterbacks don't mean a guaranteed win. Right Dan Marino, Dan Fouts, Fran Tarkenton, Warren Moon, and Jim Kelly?

^^I think thats a little misleading. As I said players can evolve. No way in hell anyone can argue Tom Brady was elite during his first two super bowls. I don't think he was elite til after his 3rd but thats probably debatable. Was Eli Manning elite in 2007? Probably not
Roethlisberger is not elite. he proves it time and time again. You canr have 10+ elite qbs. At most 5 at any given time IMO. Roethlisberger has never been the MVP of the Super Bowl, Hines Ward Santonio Holmes. Each year following the Super Bowl they missed the playoffs. Maturity issues resulting in numerous off field altercations.
Anyways my point is Josh is the man for this Franchise. You would be hard pressed to find a better quarterback to replace him with. He is the man, he can and will get it done. Have to have a playoff caliber team around him though, which were probably close to but not quite there. Davin and AC would make us closer. Prob a RT TE CB OLB and maybe DL away from where we wanna be
I have complained about freeman in the past. I agree he has been good the last 2 weeks. in the middle of the saints game we had a chance to put the game further out of reach already up 21-7 but had 2 drives in a row stall out. if we could have put together a long drive on one of those two I think it could have easily been a 10 point swing giving us 3 and the saints one less possession. it looks like freeman is getting the playbook now, vincent jackson is a beast and playing up to his contract we just need to win the key moments of the games and we will be fine.
did I mention our pass defense needs help? we have no pass rush still, and our coverage was atrocious making mistake after mistake yesterday in coverage. we just need to be more disciplined and we will be fine. we are a year or two away from being a good team, everyone is still young.
I am glad they are changing the Plays to use him and the receiver to their best ability. I think Schianos game plan held us back in the first quarter. But I am glad he has changed his style.
Run Stopping Defense
I wasn't trying to stir the pot. I think a lot of it is semantics. We all have different definitions for the word 'elite'. Plus, some of those that I mentioned are little more than pedestrian at this point in their career, but were certainly elite one point (Big Ben).
You're right, it doesn't take an elite quarterback to win a championship, every 10 or 20 years someone will come along like Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Doug Williams, or Mark Ripein and skew the numbers. But, for every Trent Dilfer, I throw in a Roger Staubach, a Terry Bradshaw, a Joe Montana, and Steve Young. Check the list. You don't NEED an elite quarterback to win the Superbowl, but the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor that if you do win a super bowl, chances are you have an elite quarterback at the helm.
