Why didn't Suh get a sack on Vick?

Didn't know where to put this LFFS and LFLOL, feel free to merge this once I get my answer.

So my question, when Vick fumbled the ball, he picked it up and starting took a few steps backwards before Suh tackled him, why doesn't that count as a sack? Not that it really matters, but I'm just curious to know. Do sacks not count if a QB fumbles and then gets tackled? Seriously don't know...

edit: there also doesn't appear to be anyone in the backfield, so they couldn't have called it a handoff, I guess... weird

Once the QB loses possession & the QB recovers, he becomes a runner & it becomes a tackle right?

I was thinking the same things LFFS.

Vick lost possession of the ball and once he recovered it, he became a RB so it became a T4L.

From my understanding, once the QB fumbles the ball it becomes a broken play and apparently there are no such things as sacks on a broken play. It happened to Clay a few times last year and I wondered the same thing myself.

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh failed to record a tackle Sunday for the first time in 38 career NFL games.

    Or did he?

Suh said today that he was the victim of faulty bookkeeping. Asked whether it bothered him that he did not record a tackle against the Jacksonsville Jaguars, he said, “If it was true, it would bug me. But the key point in your question is ‘recorded,’ because the film never lies.

“And there’s been a lot of games that I’ve experienced that throughout this year, for whatever reason. I can’t tell you (the reason for) that. You have to ask somebody else. That’s just the way the chips fell. So in the stat book, I got no tackles. What I did on the field was a different story.”

Didn't know where else this should go, but this thread is kind of relavent.

What i posted was referring to the Vikings game. But i've also though a couple of games where he only got 1-2 tackles, he was in on alot more. 1 including a half sack with C Will, i don't think he got any credit for.

Suh credited with a sack on Ponder. I mentioned he should of had one in the gt... they're missing quite a few of his tackles this year. even the statistician have something against him lol

so... i think we only care about how this affects our prediction game...

    jk!

i wonder how many garbage sacks are being missed... & more importantly were any missed the year he almost set the rookie record?

A lot of people seem to think because his sacks are down from his rookie year he isn't playing as good...what that couldn't be further from the truth.

Sure his sacks aren't as high, but he's also getting double and triple teamed, you can attribute most of the success of our line to him.

I don't know the exact stats, but I posted an article last year he basically had/has more hits and pressures than his rookie year. Just not getting the sacks.
