It makes sense depending on what they can get in return. Cano still holds great value as an actual player on the field. He will be inline for $15 million next season and headed for free agency. A team would have to feel confident that they can work out a deal with him before giving up something big. I see what you're saying but I would not move him just to move him. He may aslo have one of those famous contract year seasons.
I say get a good young starter in return and maybe a really good second base or third base prospect and go for it. What pitcher is equal for Cano?? Hell not many second basemen hit thirty homers a year.
