    Eli or Rodgers?

Just wanted to get some input on who you guys think is the better qb.

Personally I'm in favor of Eli.
I just think he a better all around qb.

Its a debate I've been having, so figured id get some other opinions.

    Rodgers

Rodgers throws a better ball than Eli and is more consistently accurate with his passes.

With the game on the line, Rodgers might be as good as Eli but I can't say he's better.

Tough to beat #10 in crunch time.

It might involve more waiting. It might involve moving in one direction or another. We've done plenty of watching and waiting. If we can move in a particular direction, we might do that."

What measure are you using to indicate he is better? What makes you "favor" or "think" Eli Manning is a better QB than Aaron Rodgers?

Regular season stat padding I'll take Rodgers but in all honesty I gotta say Manning is the better playoff QB at this point. But in the end I'll take Rodgers just because I know for sure he'll get me to the playoffs.

However, currently I am helping train with Derek Carr from Fresno State get ready for his pro day and the draft. I am also working with Cody Kessler, the USC quarterback.

Rodgers, but its far closer than people on this website make it out to be.

Still though...its clearly Rodgers. No debate here.

This is what both qb's averaged through these seasons

    Eli
    Completion % 61.6
    Yards a game 4048
    Td's 27
    Int's 16

    Rodgers
    Completion % 65.6
    Yards a game 4259.25
    Td's 32.75
    Int's 9

Post season I took Rodgers super bowl winning season in 2010 and i Took Eli's Super bowl winning season in 2011

    Eli
    Completion % 66.4
    Yards a game 304.75
    Td's 9
    Int's 1

    Rodgers
    Completion % 67.75
    Yards a game 273.5
    Td's 9
    Int's 2

There Pretty close stats, other than the picks because eli had that awful 25 picks in 2010. Rodgers beats eli in every catergory during the regular season, and almost in the post season, only difference is eli has two rings, in which both he aquired while knocking out the packers during the run. Rodgers is an extremely good quarterback and more than likely will have just as many rings if not more than eli when its all said and done.

The thing that bothers me the most in this argument is the idea that Rodgers is more important to his team than Eli is to his.

Obviously Rodgers is the more consistent and effiecient player without a doubt, and thus is superior.

But, Eli does just as much and is just as important to his team as Rodgers is to his. Once people get that through there thick heads, this won't be such a laughing matter.

Rodgers clearly is superior, but again...not by miles like everyone seems to think.

    - The Giants have no running game at all.

    - The Giants O-line is awful.

    - The Giants defense is highly overrated. Their secondary is truly one of the worst in the league and as good as their pass rush is, its not always consistent. Tuck and Osi have had their struggles over the last 2 years. Their run defense is also inconsistent and average overall.

    - The Giants have a very good receiving core.

Out of the four points I just made to describe the Giants as a team, you have to admit it sounds very similiar to the Packers. Crap running game, crap o-line, highly overrated and inconsistant defense, very good recieving cores.

Eli played great during his latest SB run...just like Rodgers. Also, just like Eli...Rodgers received some help from a particularly hot defense at the time.

Rodgers is more consistent than Eli. Outside of that...this is a very fair comparison. Eli means just as much to his team's success as does Rodgers. He is just as valuable to his team as is Rodgers. Arod is merely more consistent...leading to a Packers team that is more consistent.

Still though, when Eli is on...he is on. And he is typically on during the 4th quarter of important games. During these moments, Eli performs better than just about every other Qb in the league...including Rodgers.

Advantage Rodgers in this comparison, but its closer than any of you will be willing to admit.

    I guess I just don't understand!?!?!?

You have an initial thesis that Eli Manning is the better QB, then the case you make illustrates Aaron Rodgers is the better QB. Am I missing something here?

To me Brady is superior to David Carr. lol

To me Rodgers is the better player but not the better Quarterback.

Those Stats for Rodgers clearly make him the better player yes, but I think Eli is the better quarterback.

As in I personally think he is mentally better, and I think he sees the field better.

I dont want anyone thinking im saying Rodgers is a bad qb/player. He is great. I just think Eli can get you deeper in the playoffs, and ultimately win you a super bowl, more efficiently than rodgers....
